eXite®_link Installation

Before installing eXite®_link please make sure that…

• you are using the latest update of Java-Runtime (JRE) version 6 for your operating system. Please make sure later on to always download the current updates.
• port 11080 outgoing and port 20000 incoming (when using “active forwarding” or “active notification”) is opened in the firewall to enable the communication with eXite®.
• port 8080 is opened (is used by default for the administrative user interface). If this port is already reserved for other software, it is possible to define a different port in the exiteLink.cfg configuration file.
• at least 50 MByte of free harddisc space are provided. Further hardware requirements (CPU, RAM) depend on the recommendations for your installed operating system
• the Java memory allocation (standard: max. 64 MByte) is increased when larger files or large volume of files are processed (splitting, converting). Please see the eXite®_link manual for more details
• the latest update version of eXite®_link (www.editel.at) is downloaded to guarantee the optimal operation of the software.

Installation Guide

CAUTION: Before installing please close all open eXite®_link versions you may have on your computer!

1. Download and save ZIP archive
2. Extract and execute .jar file (if it is not working, please execute .bat file)
3. Select your language
4. Choose install path (to update an existing version please choose the existing directory)
5. Packet options can be skipped
6. Before finishing the installation create desktop and start menue entries
7. Start eXite®_link via these entries or the file exiteLink.bat in the root directory
8. Start webbrowser and use address http://localhost:8080
9. The eXite®_link web interface appears
10. Carry out the configuration according to the manual
